1969 Alfa Romeo 1300 Junior (2.0 Twin Spark)
The legendary ‘105’ series has become a sought after legend amongst a backdrop of some of the worlds greatest cars from the same manufacturer, Alfa Romeo. Launched in 1963, the Giorgetti Giugiaro (Of then Bertone) penned design took influence from the earlier 2600 sprint, and introduced many groundbreaking styling features for the era. An achingly beautiful and timeless design, it has become one of the most adored classic Alfa Romeo’s made.
This Italian Market vehicle started life originally as a Scalino 1300 GT Junior - Now built into the machine you see today by a well-known and respected Alfa Romeo Spider specialist to use as his chariot of choice to tour Europe following the Formula 1. An 8V Twin Spark conversion sits at the heart of this restoration, providing modern day reliability, performance and refinement without detracting from the wonderful nature of the 105. It eventually ended up in the hands of a classic car dealer before being purchased by it’s current owner, who imported it into the UK in 2022 and has cared for it since. Often being used to demonstrate his detailing company and services provided, it presents exceptionally well with mechanicals to match!
Exterior
Finished in the iconic Alfa Rosso the ‘Scalino’ (Stepnose) presents in exceptional condition with very few imperfections to note. The bodywork is straight and without noticeable imperfections, and trim and badging are complete. It boasts the legendary ‘GTA style’ door handles and a bumper delete is another nod to this competition heritage. The car sits on a set of unmarked 15 inch wheels and with a handling kit fitted the ‘stance’ is both beautiful and functional.
Interior
The beautiful condition continues on the inside of the Scalino - Custom made doorcards and rear seat delete provide an extremely refined feeling to what is a 60+ year old cabin. The seats are comfortable and well looked after, and an OMP Roll cage provides both a level of safety and ‘competition feel’ (Half in currently, but front can be reinstalled if desired). The wood rimmed steering wheel is beautiful to both admire and use, and the sportier pedal set fits in well aesthetically while providing improved feel. 3 small marks to the upper dash top are visible from only certain angles and do not detract in any way from the stunning cabin.
Mechanical
The car shines as well under the bonnet as outside! Under the hood sits an 8V Twin Spark from an Alfa Romeo 75 - With the goal being ultimate reliability and usability, the 8V Twin Spark is a combination of clever engineering and great character. Far smoother and refined than the original motor, the engine still packs a punch - Especially on a vehicle that weighs so little! Exactly why it’s the engine of choice for other high end builds like those seen from ‘Alfaholics’. This is mated to a later gearbox too, believed to be from an S3 Spider. The car is almost telepathic in the way that it drives, with a well set up suspension, that like the engine is extremely progressive and predictable. A perfect balance between either a road trip machine or a weekend warrior!

While we take every effort to describe the car as thoroughly as possible, as with all classic vehicles there may be period quirks or characteristics that cannot be fully identified during our inspection — although, of course, it’s often these very traits that make classics so charming. Please consider this when purchasing a historic vehicle.
