1995 Rover Mini Cooper
Instantly recognisable and universally loved, with a design that lasted over 40 years in production - The classic Mini Cooper. Overall, 5.4 million classic Mini’s were built prior to BMW’s purchase of the brand, and it remains one of the greatest automotive designs of all time. Following the Suez Oil Crisis of 1956, the sale of large cars plummeted and new, more efficient and better packaged vehicle was required. Alec Issigonis of BMC was tasked with the design of this new micro car, and by 1959 the classic Mini as we know it had been born.
This particular low mileage vehicle is one of the later ‘Rover Mini’s’ SPI’s from 1995 - Originally a Japanese Market Car, it has spent most of it’s life lovingly cared for in a country with no salt which often leads to the early demise of these vehicles. Imported to the UK in 2021, it underwent a light recommissioning before being sold to it’s one and only owner in the UK who due to working in Australia, has not had the opportunity to enjoy the car as much as he had hoped. This means, the vehicle has covered less than 200 miles since being in the country - And it is now ready to move onto it’s new home to be enjoyed.
Exterior
Presented in ‘Grey’ with While details (Bonnet Stripes, roof, pinstripe and ‘Cooper’ decals) this charming Mini presents extremely well - The paintwork is bright and matching, and the flared arches and ‘ultra lite’ wheels give the car an exceptional stance compared to a standard car. There is absolutely no corrosion to note anywhere on the vehicle, although there are signs of previous paintwork on inspection - As expected for a 32 year old vehicle.
Interior
The interior presents as well as in the exterior - The front and rear seats are in exceptional condition, and may have benefitted from restoration at some stage as they defy the age and mileage of the car. All trim is present and correct, with features working as they should. As is always the case, some wood trim does show signs of ‘cracking’ but this doesn’t detract from what is overall a beautifully presented interior.
Mechanical
Mechanically, the car is a joy - When it arrived in the UK, it benefitted from an underside deep clean and underseal protection, and given the limited mileage of the vehicle since it is in perfect condition and protected moving forward. The engine fires into life and settles into Idle immediately - The benefit of these later injection Mini’s. This doesn’t in any way detract from the character though - The car is tight and ‘go kart’ like to drive, with a stunning exhaust note from the aftermarket exhaust. A turnkey classic ready to be enjoyed straight away.

While we take every effort to describe the car as thoroughly as possible, as with all classic vehicles there may be period quirks or characteristics that cannot be fully identified during our inspection — although, of course, it’s often these very traits that make classics so charming. Please consider this when purchasing a historic vehicle.
